Cheap flights carrier bmibaby has announced that it will launch new flights to Lourdes from Manchester Airport.
The low-cost airline intends to introduce the new route to France in time for the summer 2010 season and expects more than 9,000 passengers to make use of it during the peak holiday months.
Due to commence on April 30th 2010 and run through until October 1st 2010, the Manchester-Lourdes link will operate on Mondays and Fridays.
Crawford Rix, managing director of bmibaby, explained that it is the only carrier to offer flights to the French market town from Manchester.
"We are pleased we can offer the people of Manchester the chance to travel to an exciting new destination," he added, noting that the airline will offer 19 European routes from the airport next summer.
Earlier this summer, bmibaby revealed that it will provide flights to Prague from East Midlands Airport as part of its winter 2009-10 schedule.
