The number of events taking place means that those taking city breaks in Budapest can look forward to visiting a city that is "buzzing all season".
This is according to Karin Jones of the Hungarian National Tourist Office, who said that not only does the Hungarian capital offer a wealth of things to do, it also represents a less expensive city break option.
"Hungary always offers fantastic value for money for UK visitors as it is outside of the eurozone, making the exchange rate very favourable," she explained.
"In Budapest you can find a top class luxury or boutique hotel for a fraction of the cost of something similar in cities like Berlin or Paris."
Of the Hungarian capital’s events, Ms Jones recommended the Budapest Summer Music Festival, which begins on Tuesday (July 6th) and draws to a close on August 17th.
Among the highlights are indoor performances at the Hungarian State Opera House and a concert by a one hundred-member gypsy orchestra at Hilton Dominican Court.
Another of this summer’s Budapest highlights will be the Red Bull Air Race, which takes place on August 20th to mark St Stephen’s Day.
