Low cost airline bmibaby has launched a spate of new summer flights.

Low cost airline bmibaby has launched a spate of new summer flights – and Cardiff Airport is the departure point for several important new routes.

Also on the horizon are bmibaby flights from Cardiff Airport to Barcelona, starting on May 24th and linking the cities twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays, before a third weekly flight is added in June.

New Gdansk and Barcelona services are only the beginning however for bmibaby’s expanding Cardiff operations, with the airline planning flights to 13 European destinations from the hub this summer.

Warsaw is another Polish location that bmibaby will serve from Cardiff, while Spain also features highly with routes not only to Barcelona but also to Alicante, Malaga, Murcia and Palma.

Parent company BMI recently saw the group’s reputation boosted as BMI Regional services were ruled the most punctual at UK airports for the third year running by FlightOnTime.Info.

While expanding at Cardiff, bmibaby’s main hub remains its founding headquarters East Midlands Airport, carrying over 7.5 million passengers to and from the airport since 2002.
