Cheap flights carrier bmibaby has announced that it will increase its number of flights this summer from Birmingham International Airport to Murcia, Faro, Malaga and Alicante.
An extra 24 flights a week will fly to and from the popular holiday destinations in the summer months after the airline experienced strong demand from customers.
The increase in the number of flights means that bmibaby has become the largest provider of routes to the Mediterranean for summer 2009.
Bmibaby’s managing director, Crawford Rix, said the extra flights would allow the airline to carry a further 1,600 passengers from Birmingham every week.
"The extra capacity will also make bmibaby the largest low-cost carrier flying from the Midlands to the Mediterranean, and our great low fares mean that people can still afford to get away for a holiday this year," he said.
Bmi regional recently announced that it will launch a new flight to Aberdeen from Birmingham on March 29th.
