The airline will offer three flights a day on the route – a greater frequency than any of its competitors. bmibaby currently operates a daily flight on the route, something that it will continue to do until March 27th.
Commenting on the new flight, Peter Kenworthy, commercial director of bmi regional, said the airline was "delighted" to secure the year-round service.
"The increased schedule reinforces our commitment to key business routes within the UK and we recognise the need for a more frequent schedule and we expect the route to be popular with both business and leisure travellers," he said.
Mr Kenworthy added that the flight would also offer passengers the chance to connect to bmi and Star Alliance onward flights to Scandinavia.
bmi said on Monday (January 12th) that Heathrow Airport should be allowed to expand to avoid a decline in Britain’s aviation industry.
It also recommended that new transport links be built to the UK’s busiest airport.
