Flights to Bourgas will resume from Blackpool International Airport next summer, Balkan Holidays has confirmed.
The tour operator will begin weekly flights to the Black Sea resort from Lancashire on August 9th 2010.
Passengers taking the route will benefit from easy access to Bulgaria’s southern coastline, which boasts an array of holiday resorts.
Blackpool International Airport’s customer relations and communications manager Sue Kendrick said that the route had been "sorely missed", with a number of passengers having emailed the airport asking for it to be reinstated.
"Bulgaria is attracting a lot of interest from holidaymakers not only because of its fantastic sandy beaches and great weather but also because it’s a euro-free zone," she commented.
"A holiday in Bulgaria can be great value for money with a three course meal costing under £10 per person and a large beer only £1.30."
In May, Exeter-based airline Flybe began flights to the Isle of Man and Belfast City from the Lancashire airport, with services operated by Loganair.
