In response to the pandemic, British Airways is offering extended Flexible Booking options. Finding British Airways flight deals on the Skyscanner app

Go to ‘Flights’ on our app and enter your departure and destination cities or airports. The colour-coded calendar will then help you to choose optimal travel dates by showing when the most affordable fares are available. Once you enter your travel dates, you can narrow your search results to show only British Airways flights. Just click ‘Filter’, then ‘Airlines’. Deselect all but British Airways, then hit ‘Apply’.

Finding British Airways flight deals on the Skyscanner website

For British Airways flight deals on Skyscanner, enter your departure airport first. Remember to tick ‘Add nearby airports’ to find out what other options there are as you might be able to find a cheaper flight from an airport that is not too far from yours.

You can change the destination to ‘Everywhere’ if you’re feeling spontaneous and want to make sure you don’t miss out on any British Airways bargain flights.

If you choose the ‘Cheapest month’, you’ll be taken straight to the lowest fares.

Once you click through to the flight search results, you can opt to see only British Airways flights. Simply scroll down to ‘Airlines’ on the left-hand side, click ‘Clear all’, select ‘British Airways’, hit ‘Apply’ and there you have it!

What to do if my British Airways flight is cancelled due to national or regional lockdowns?

If your flight has been cancelled you will be offered a refund or a voucher to cover the value of your booking. Travellers can change their booking without having to pay a change fee. If you decide you don’t want to travel at all, you can cancel and receive a voucher to the same value for future travel. What safety measures is British Airways putting in place?

All passengers are required to wear a face mask at all times. Generally, one mask lasts for four hours so it’s suggested to bring enough for a journey. Travellers are encouraged to check-in online or with the BA app. You will be offered a new food service which will reduce physical contact with a crew. All British Airways aircraft use HEPA filters that remove microscopic bacteria and virus clusters with over 99.9% efficiency (equivalent to hospital operating theatre standards). The air in the cabin gets replaced every 2–3 minutes.

Is my UK passport still valid to travel to Europe? Do I need a visa?

All UK passport holders should check the updated government advice regarding passport validity requirements. It is the passengers’ responsibility to ensure that they have valid documents for travel. In 2021, you’ll only need a visa if you will be staying in Europe for longer than 90 days. From 2022, the EU will be introducing a European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS). This will be similar to the ESTA system for travelling to the USA and you will need to register your details online before you travel.
