Looking for cheap travel ideas for your next trip? Every week, Skyscanner travel editor, Sam Baldwin, uses Skyscanner’s popular “UK to Everywhere” search feature and handpicks three bargain destinations that are well worth a look.
Malaga, Spain (from £36 return) – Despite the rise of the euro, us Brits are still flocking to the beaches of Spain in our thousands. Why? Because hot spots like Malaga offer exactly what we want: hot, sunny weather, beautiful golden beaches, warm seas, good food and fun nightlife, and although the stronger euro means Spain is more expensive than last year, it still remains a good value destination.

Ljubljana, Slovenia (from £76 return) – I’m a huge fan of Slovenia, so this one caught my eye. It’s still a country that is not well known to UK tourists which is one of the things I like about it. Ljubljana is a charming capital, split by a beautiful green river lined with alfresco eateries and overlooked by a medieval castle. Slovenia is also extremely compact, yet very diverse in its geography, so you’ve got beaches, lakes, snow-capped mountains, vineyards and cave systems, all just a few hours apart.

Amsterdam, Netherlands (from £58 return) – You can guarantee a weekend in Amsterdam won’t be boring. A city where it’s easy to be a sinner, there are forbidden pleasures at every turn. But there’s more to the Dutch capital than coffee shops and the red light district; there’s great markets, world class museums and the enchanting canal system to explore.
