Claiming themselves to be the ‘saviours of Scottish tourism’, Bagging-Scotland is a recently launched site aimed at promoting Scotland’s finest assets, namely: castles, whisky distilleries, islands and Munros, which are each profiled and pinpointed on a map helping visitors to learn more about them.
The site has a strong emphasis on community, with ‘baggers’ encouraged to add their own photos and blog about their experiences by creating their own personal ‘Bagging’ account.
Currently, Bagging-Scotland mainly focuses on whisky, castles, Munros and islands, which seems a little limited. Of course, Scotland has all these and plenty of them, but there is obviously many worthy sights in Scotland that don’t fall into these categories. However, the website is still in beta, so perhaps the scope will widen with future releases.
Overall, Bagging-Scotland is a good looking, interactive site, with plenty of pictures, video and maps, and will certainly give those interested in seeing some of Scotland’s greatest attractions, some inspiration. And if the site reaches that vital critical mass of contributors, it really could become the saviour of Scottish tourism.
So, if you are ‘gaggin’ tae go bagging’ as they say – check out Bagging-Scotland.com.
