Baboo launches flights to Geneva from Oxford

Swiss regional airline Baboo has introduced weekly flights to Geneva from London Oxford Airport.

Swiss regional airline Baboo has introduced weekly flights to Geneva from London Oxford Airport.

The Saturday service is the first international scheduled route departing from the city in 72 years, with flights operated using a Bombardier Q400 aircraft.

Jacques Bankir, Baboo’s chief executive officer, was among the passengers on the first flight. He said he is "really excited" by the potential of London Oxford and that it is "ideal" for Baboo.

"Our passengers have a stress-free experience, enjoying facilities designed for business aviation clients and it is a great complement to our 11 weekly services out of London City Airport," he commented.

Baboo’s flights to Geneva are specifically targeted at ski passengers from the home counties region, with London Oxford Airport having invested in runway de-icing equipment and snow clearing capabilities to make sure services can go ahead.

Elsewhere, the regional carrier is planning to launch flights to Rome from Geneva, which will connect with departures from Oxford.

Last month, London Oxford was named the Best Business Aviation Airport by the Airport Operators Association.
