US cheap flights carrier AirTran Airways has launched new nonstop flights to Cancun from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
The daily flight, which was introduced on February 25th, departs Atlanta at 09:55 and arrives in the Mexican city at 11:25 local time.
Tad Hutcheson, AirTran Airways vice-president of marketing and sales, said the airline is "committed" to offering low-cost travel to preferred destinations.
"This new service will provide low fares and easier access to this popular vacation destination just in time for Spring Break," he said.
Earlier this month the airline announced that it would increase its number of flights to Branson, St Louis, Minneapolis and Denver from Milwaukee in May.
The new flights will increase AirTran’s operations from Milwaukee by over 40 percent. A total of 30 flights will depart from the city during the summer, up from 2008’s figure of 21.
Some 18 destinations will now be served from the city, an increase from the previous figure of 14.
