US cheap flights carrier AirTran Airways will launch new flights to Orlando from Branson Airport just before Christmas.
The route will take effect on December 19th during the busy run-up to the festive season.
Branson Airport executive director Jeff Bourk said the addition of a low-cost Orlando service is a "welcome addition" to the airline’s presence at the airport.
"The new service will make it easy and convenient for folks in south-west Missouri and northern Arkansas to travel to the exciting vacation destination of Orlando to enjoy the beautiful weather during the winter months."
In December last year, AirTran became the first national airline in the US to begin flying from Branson, the country’s first privately financed and operated commercial airport.
AirTran Airways senior vice president of marketing and planning Kevin Healey said he was "excited" that the route would be linking two of the US’s "most popular entertainment destinations".
Elsewhere, the carrier will introduce flights to Key West from Orlando two days earlier on December 17th.
