US cheap flights carrier AirTran Airways will launch new flights to Key West from Orlando in the run-up to Christmas.
Flights to the Straights of Florida island will begin on December 17th and will allow holidaymakers from Britain to experience both the peaceful Florida Keys and the bustling Orlando theme parks.
AirTran will operate the route using a Boeing 737-700 aircraft every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, with take-off from Orlando scheduled for 11:30 (local time).
Passengers can expect to touch down at Key West International Airport at 12:40.
Return flights depart at 13:30 (local time) before landing in Orlando at 14:40.
Key West is located at the southernmost tip of the Florida Keys and is approximately four miles long and two miles wide.
Air Tran will introduce additional flights from New York’s LaGuardia Airport and Washington’s Reagan National Airport on November 4th.
Flights to Indianapolis will be launched from LaGuardia while its number of flights to Orlando will increase.
The carrier will begin operating more services to both Orlando and Atlanta from Reagan National.
