US cheap flights carrier AirTran Airways will launch new flights to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando from Lexington in Kentucky in the early part of next year.
Flights to the popular holiday destinations will commence on February 11th, with the routes likely to appeal those seeking an early spring break.
AirTran Airways’ vice president of marketing and planning Kevin Healy said that, with winter just around the corner, there is no better time to offer people in Lexington the opportunity of travelling on cheap flights to Florida.
"We continue to search for new opportunities to enhance our route network, and this new service in Lexington will benefit both our airline and residents of the Bluegrass state," he commented.
Flights will operate from Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport, which underwent a major expansion two years ago.
Earlier this month, the AirTran Airways announced increases to its winter flights schedule to Florida, making the ‘sunshine state’ more accessible during the festive season.
