Air Southwest will introduce a new twice-daily flight to Plymouth and Newquay from London City Airport on April 20th.
The new flight, which will be operated on a 50-seat Dash 8-300 aircraft, will stop at Plymouth before landing at the Cornish seaside resort.
Chief executive of London City Airport Richard Gooding said that the flight would allow people in the south-west to travel to the capital’s financial centres "faster than any other way".
"London City Airport’s close proximity to Canary Wharf and The City, with quick connections to the rest of London and the south-east, makes it an obvious choice for the business traveller," he said.
Tickets for the new flight are on sale for £29 each way, including taxes, charges and baggage. Passengers will benefit from a check-in time of 15 minutes, allowing commuters more time for business engagements.
Last week London City Airport was named a Business Superbrand for the second year in succession.
