Increasing numbers of business passengers are using Air Southwest’s route to London City Airport from Newquay and Plymouth.
The airline has said that thousands of Devon and Cornwall-based passengers have flown on the route since it was introduced on March 20th.
Commenting on the success of the service, managing director of Air Southwest Peter Davies said: "When we launched our London City service three months ago we set out to revolutionise air travel between Devon, Cornwall and London and the feedback we’ve received from our business customers in particular confirms that we’ve achieved our objective."
The twice-daily flight to London City takes little more than 70 minutes from Plymouth and under two hours from Newquay, allowing business travellers to spend a full working day in the capital.
According to Air Southwest, the route has become "the transport method of choice" among executives, beating both trains and the cars.
These passengers also look set to benefit from Newquay Cornwall Airport’s new executive lounge, which opened last month.
