Air New Zealand has recently revealed their new ‘Skycouch’ seating option on their long haul flights.
Heralded as the first ‘lie-down economy bed’, it’s being called the first major improvement in economy class travel comfort in 20 years.
How the Skycouch works
Two people buy a row of three seats together. These can then be converted by moving the specially designed foot rests up to form a slim, but nevertheless flat, bed.
The third seat comes at half price.
So – would you pay the extra to get a Skycouch and if so, who would you want to share it with?
Suggestions from the Skyscanner office included:
- Kate Moss – doesn’t take up much room
- Pamela Anderson – extra pillows
- Jessica Rabbit – how much room can a drawing take up?
- Keira Knightly – gets boring quickly, so easy to fall asleep
