The flights, which will be operated with a Boeing 747-400, will allow Air India passengers to connect to onward flights to Newark and Chicago from the German city.
In addition to the Frankfurt service, the airline will introduce a new daily flight to London via Mumbai on the same date, with the Mumbai-London-Mumbai section operated by a Boeing 777 aircraft.
Flights to Frankfurt will depart Ahmedabad at 02:45 (local time) and arrive in Frankfurt at 06:50 (local time). The return flight will take off from Germany at 11:10 and land in the Indian city at 22:25.
The airline recently announced that it would be introducing additional flights to Port Blair from Chennai and Kolkata during this summer’s holiday season.
