Air Berlin will be launching two new routes from Prevesa Airport from May 2009.
The carrier’s new cheap flights will depart from Stuttgart in Germany and arrive at Prevesa in Greece.
Flights to Dusseldorf from Prevesa will also be launched by the airline next year as part of its summer 2009 schedule.
Tickets for the new routes are already available to purchase for customers.
The news represents a positive move by the airline, which announced earlier in the month that it intends to cut some services to save money.
Germany’s second biggest carrier is hoping it can save £118.5 million by cutting unprofitable routes from its schedule, reports WirtschaftsWoche.
Chief executive Joachim Hunold told the newspaper that the airline could cut up to ten per cent of its fleet and possibly raise prices for its business class tickets.
He warned that business travellers should "prepare themselves for price increases".
