A travel technology deal has been struck that will enable an airline to provide access to copious hotel data, involving the services of a leading global distribution system (GDS) provider.
Lastminute.com’s Partner Network was founded last year, creating a network of clients to whom Sabre’s complete hotel inventory is wholesaled. As many as 40,000 hotels from Sabre’s GDS are linked into by the Lastminute.com service, now allowing Aer Lingus customers access to sophisticated booking opportunities. But under the deal, Lastminute.com’s customised white label hotel solution constructed for Aer Lingus will allow for an even wider booking scope, providing for the sale of a portfolio of 80,000 worldwide hotels inventory through the airline’s website.
Also providing access to a further 40,000 merchant rate properties from Lastminute.com and medhotels.com and Travelocity, the Lastminute.com service has already lured in social network WAYN.com and frenchconnections.co.uk.
