1. Nice skiing and snowboarding – Isola 2000

With a vertical drop of over 800m and over 40 lifts including a funicular railway – Isola will easily keep even advanced skiers and snowboarders occupied for a week or more.

2. Nice Art

Nice is a city with a love of art both old and new. 3. Nice Neighbour – Monaco

Just a short drive up the coast is the city-state of Monaco. Worth a visit for being the second smallest independent state in the world, as well as a playground for the rich and famous, spend a day here and take in the super yachts, super cars and super views of the Mediterranean. F1 fans will also know Monaco for playing host to perhaps the best known F1 race on the circuit with its narrow, twisted streets creating a high-octane event.

4. Nice Nature – The Phoenix Floral Park

This seven hectare park claims to be Europe’s largest botanical garden and is a green oasis of exotic trees, flowers and shrubs. A giant greenhouse supports seven different tropical habitats and there’s also a bird house, orchid garden, aquarium and a caiman infested lake! A great spot for romantic couples as well as kids, the Park Phoenix is one of the Nice’s greatest green zones.

5. Nice and Old – Vieux Ville

The best way to get a real feel for Nice’s history and atmosphere is to take a stroll through Nice’s old town. Start off wandering through the stalls of the famous open-air Cours Saleya markets where you can sample fresh cheese, bread, jams and nougat. Then head deep into the backstreets to find homemade pasta shops and street food. Finally, finish off with a visit to Fenocchio’s Ice Cream Parlour which has become a Nice institution, serving 59 types of ice cream and 35 sorbets. Nice!
