It was Gareth’s frustration with finding cheap flights that led him to create Skyscanner with two friends, Barry Smith and Bonamy Grimes. Gareth’s 14 years of experience as a developer for financial institutions and retail companies have helped him make Skyscanner one of the top digital travel companies in the world.
Gareth never travels without: “Pen and paper. It´s harder to doodle on a device.”
Bryan Dove is CEO of Skyscanner. Prior to that Bryan held the role of Chief Technical Officer, having joined Skyscanner in 2015. During his time with Skyscanner he has been instrumental in leading and growing Skyscanner’s product, engineering, data science, design, and infrastructure teams at an accelerated scale across ten global offices. Since joining the business, Bryan has played a key role in shaping Skyscanner’s vision and strategy.
Bryan brings to Skyscanner more than 15 years of engineering leadership experience. Prior to joining Skyscanner, Bryan was a Director of Engineering at Amazon Web Services’ S3, and also held key roles at Microsoft and Skype.
Chief People Officer
Ruth Chandler is Chief People Officer, a global role that spans across 10 offices and over 800 members of staff worldwide. Ruth has over 15 years’ experience in a range of specialist HR and People leadership roles in high profile organisations, including at the University of Edinburgh and Standard Life.
Ruth never travels without: “A maps app on my phone – I have a terrible sense of direction!”
Shane Corstorphine is VP of Growth and General Manager of the Americas region at Skyscanner, overseeing the travel search company’s accelerated growth in the region. Shane joined Skyscanner is 2012 and has seen Skyscanner grow from 140 employees in two offices to a global organization of ten offices and over 800 employees. Shane previously ran his own start up and was also Director of Performance for Barclays Bank.

VP, Product Management
Filip is VP of Product Management at Skyscanner, where he leads a range of teams focusing on the supplier side of the marketplace. Filip also heads up our Sofia office, an engineering hub, with a team of over 30. Filip joined Skyscanner in 2013 as a strategist in the Edinburgh office. Previously, Filip held a variety of senior management positions at Travel Capitalist Ventures and Everbread Limited as well as he was a strategy consultant with Opera Solutions in New York and London.
Filip never travels without: “A good book on my iPad and some local cash for the destination I am headed.”
George Goodyer is VP of Engineering and acts as Engineering Lead on our worldwide flights product.
George is an experienced engineering leader, with a track record of success, leading software engineering across international internet economy companies.
He is accomplished across a number for domains, ranging from security, fin-tech and cloud. He is passionate about building distributed systems at scale,powering products that people love to use.
George never travels without: His product partner Piero Sierra, not to be confused as the brains amongst the pair, his perfect hair and winning personality are mandatory.
Chief Legal Officer
Carolyn is responsible for the legal, public and regulatory affairs of the company globally, as well as M&A.
Carolyn joined Skyscanner in 2013 from Wolfson Microelectronics plc, where she had held the role of Head of Legal for the previous five years.
Carolyn never travels without: “Photos of my kids and hair straighteners!”
Chief Financial Officer
Colin McLellan is Chief Financial Officer at Skyscanner. Colin joined Skyscanner in 2013 as Group Financial Controller, and was previously interim CEO of Skyscanner Japan (a joint venture between Skyscanner and Yahoo! Japan). Colin’s position as Financial Director in a business growing at accelerated pace means he’s involved in a wide range of activity – from investments to acquisitions and the implementation of an award-winning employee share scheme.
Colin never travels without: “good music and a couple of good books”.
Chief Commercial Officer
Stuart Middleton is Chief Commercial Officer at Skyscanner. He is responsible for sales and business development globally and has a keen understanding of a wide range of areas of the business, having additionally spent time leading Skyscanner’s EMEA Tribe through a transition from traditional marketing to a ‘Growth’ structure.
Stuart never travels without: “Several In Our Time podcasts. They cover a massive range of fascinating topics and are also a great help when jet-lag rears its ugly head!”
VP, Product Management
Piero Sierra is VP of Product Management and leads Skyscanner’s flights product worldwide.
Piero has over 20 years of experience delivering world-class consumer products like Skype, Messenger, OneDrive and Windows. Prior to joining Skyscanner, Piero was a Partner at Microsoft.
Piero never travels without: His engineering partner George Goodyer. Some believe they are in fact the same person, but no. Piero is much better looking.
