Travel. It's one of life's simple pleasures. But, ooof, planning it can feel like hard work. For the last 18 years we've been on a mission to empower every traveller with innovative tools, insights and experiences that help people get to where they're going, so they can spend more time out exploring the world, and less time anxiously bouncing around 25 browser tabs and endless spreadsheets. Our traveller-first approach drives everything we do and it's never been more important than it is today.
When we launched as a flight comparison site back in 2003, we changed the game by helping travellers feel smart, like they were in on a secret, that promise hasn't changed. And today, while we're a world leader in travel, with millions of people using our products every single day we know there's so much more we can be doing.
Being part of Skyscanner means joining a team hell bent on building the world's most innovative, and helpful travel experiences possible. We're hugely ambitious and believe we have the chance to genuinely challenge and disrupt the industry.
Proactive. Passionate. Proficient.
Working at Skyscanner just feels… different. It’s the way we love to collaborate, yet take personal ownership of our work. We’re excited about improving the world of travel and working here isn’t quite like anywhere else.
We need your talent and expertise to help us create the best digital workplace for our employees, you will be working in an Enablement Function tribe with a focus on giving our employees the best tools for the right jobs. You’ll be joining us during a period of growth meaning we’ll need your experience and expertise to lead on digital transformation projects and to take ownership of creating and delivering an engineering roadmap for the Office Systems Manager squad. This is a fast-paced and Tribe and will require an experienced manager who can contribute to multiple projects whilst fully supporting operational needs simultaneously. You will be skilled in stakeholder management/engagement whilst also having the technical knowledge to choose the right technology and tooling for your Squad so a background in IT Operations or Service Engineering would mean you can hit the ground running.
As an Engineering Manager, you’ll build a high performing team capable of creating robust, creative products, supporting them with your leadership and management skills and you wont be afraid to roll your sleeves up to get hands on in supporting the maintenance of our current office infrastructure and in building new technology solutions that will support our global meeting spaces, such as A/V solutions. You will take ownership for the improvement of our operational capabilities by developing runbooks, monitoring, and building internal tools so experience and knowledge of OS, Networking and Cloud concepts would be beneficial.
We work as a global team but deliver within squads of 6 to 12 engineers using Agile/Lean methodologies. We don't need you to be a master all the details of Scrum or Kanban, but experience working in an Agile environment would be a bonus as you will be able to support your team in establishing sustainable flow to deliver on their projects. You will need to work with colleagues in other teams and other disciplines together to make sure those projects turn into success for the company. Sometimes this will mean being able to break down shared milestones across multiple teams in multiple locations, sometimes it will mean influencing your peers' thinking, and sometimes it will mean helping ensure the success of others by mentoring and coaching them effectively. As an Engineering Manager within this Tribe you would be responsible for the line management and supported career development of a squad of 5-8 talented engineers.
Already a global leader in travel, we want to elevate the way we work to a whole other level. In return, you’ll get meaningful things like medical insurance, headspace subscriptions, a home office allowance and the option to buy more holiday. You’ll have the opportunity to work from any country for 4 weeks a year, and 30 days in our other global offices. Everything, in other words, to help you relax and give your best.

Please note that whilst infrequent, we may need your support out with our normal working hours. We ask that applicants are willing to work on-call as part of an escalation path for owned services if this is required.
You'll join a brilliantly diverse group from all corners of the world. After all, travel is about finding new perspectives and experiencing new people and cultures - and Skyscanner is strongest when our teams are both inclusive and diverse. We recognise and challenge everyday biases, remove obstacles to inclusion and ensure all our people can thrive and be themselves.
