Engineering Manager - AWS
Skyscanner is proud to be the world’s most trusted travel app and website. Here, our mission is to lead the global transformation to modern and sustainable travel and ensure a seamless experience for all those who want to explore the planet while protecting it.
At Skyscanner, our global presence offers scale and our inclusive work environment gives everyone the chance to make a real impact. Wherever you’ll join us, you’ll work alongside people who’ll inspire you to achieve your best while tackling some of the most exciting challenges within the travel sector.
Collaborative. Intense. Trustworthy.
There’s something different about life at Skyscanner. You’ll feel it straight away. When you find solutions and put your best ideas into action, as you revel in the fast-paced, collaborative nature of the team. We believe work should always be like this. Join us as an Engineering Manager. Grow your knowledge. Be part of something people love to use. And feel a new kind of energy.
It takes serious technical knowledge to head up an Engineering team. So, as a leader, you’ll need to be experienced, humble and also highly skilled. And whatever the problem, you’ll find the perfect solution by encouraging your team to work as one, getting them to perform with clear technical direction.
We need your expertise to help us do something great for over 100 million travellers: make booking stays and journeys more sustainable and straightforward. It involves technical challenges and the latest technology, but that’s ok by you – in fact, it’s exactly what you want!
As our Squad Lead for our AWS specialists, you’ll guide the team to run high-scale networking and infrastructure configurations across the regions that Skyscanner operate in, dealing with scale that only the biggest internet economy companies need to handle. Automation and enablement are key here – helping others do what they need to do rather than doing it all yourself, in a safe and secure manner.
Ultimately you are the experts for AWS in Skyscanner – if you don’t know how to do something in AWS, you’ll know the person who does and together you’ll drive best practise across the company.
Though you’ll be accountable for your own projects and trusted to deliver, you’ll also form part of a broader team that takes collective responsibility for our production platform and making success happen.

Already a global leader in travel, we want to elevate the way we work to a whole other level. In return, you’ll get meaningful things like medical insurance, health screenings, headspace subscriptions, a home office allowance and the option to buy more holiday. You’ll have the opportunity to work from any country for 4 weeks a year, and 30 days in our other global offices. Everything, in other words, to help you relax and give your best.
Travel means discovering new perspectives and experiencing diverse cultures. And we believe that travel is for everyone. We know that Skyscanner will be strongest when our team is both inclusive and diverse and we are committed to taking that journey together. We will recognise and challenge everyday biases, remove obstacles to inclusion and ensure that all of our people can thrive as their authentic selves
