Rochester is one of the Main cities in Upstate New York that has a rich history and is the location of the headquarters of Eastman Kodak. It is also sits on Lake Ontario with great views of the lake.

This is a small city just north of the Finger Lakes and right on Lake Ontario. It is easy to get around in and the cost of housing is very reasonable. Sometimes the weather is not that great but still manageable. Lots of festivals and very good educational institutions help make this a nice place to live.

The Rust Belt at its best, there is so much industrial history in this area, but a lot of contemporary art and culture as well. While not a big 'destination' city, Rochester does have a lot to offer to those passing through.

It has a great music scene and lots of fun things to do downtown! Don't miss the art museum, the butterfly observatory, ad definitely don't miss Jay's Diner out in Henrietta, just outside of Rochester proper. It's a true 50's diner that is 24 hrs, has good prices on food, and is a really fun place to hang out after a night on the town ;o)
