Nested 20 miles south of SF, redwood city is home to a number of tech start ups and suburban neighborhoods.
Downtown Redwood City has lately become one of my favorite spots for checking movies and grabbing a bite to eat. Lots of new interesting restaurants, a large modern movie theater, and the eclectic old Fox theater for concerts and plays make this downtown a fun place to spend an evening. There are a few parking lots in the area, but it can be challenging to find a spot once in awhile.
Downtown Redwood City has a number of good restaurant streets that are hopping on Friday nights. Parking can be a bit of a pain though.
My first introduction to Redwood City was 30 years ago over a cold beer at Pete's Harbor.
