Famous NorCal getaway known for producing some of the best wines in the world.
Downtown Napa is filled with quaint little olive oil and wine shops. It's a great home base for a weekend of wine tasting.
Napa Valley is synonymous with California. This is the land of rolling vineyards, fine dining and some of the best wine on the planet. Unfortunately, the cat's out of the bag on how incredible this place is so it can get very busy. It's best to book tastings at your wineries of choice in advance to ensure you won't have to wait in line. And be warned, this weekend will be a splurge as tastings and accommodation can be pricey.
Napa as a city is very nice, though when I came much of the downtown was under construction so many shops and restaurants were closed. That said, if you have the budget, there are tons of other really stellar places to eat and shop. It's really the countryside that makes the region a destination, though, so I didn't spend too much time indoors.
