"We arrived after 10pm, jet lagged (it was 4am in our home country), we had booked with Booking.com, I presented the booking information, straight away the man on reception informed me that this wasn't the booking he had on file, and as I had booked with a third party, there was nothing he could do, the manner in which this was said gave both myself and my husband the impression that it was the end of the conversation and he was not willing to assist any further, we asked another man on reception and he too was unwilling to take it any further. As we were so weary, we went off to our room to rest. When we woke in the morning my husband checked his credit card statement , we had been charged for the room upgrade (but we didn't have the upgraded room) and in incidentals charge (again, we were not advised about the incidentals charge) In the morning, we went down to reception, rested and clear headed. On reception we were met by Aine and Inilta, we experienced the best in hospitality from these ladies, they were all about what they could do for us and how to resolve the room problem, by the time we had returned from breakfast the room issue had been resolved and we transferred into the new room overlooking the channel. Aside from the 2 men on reception, the service from the staff at this hotel has been outstanding, the cleanliness cannot be faulted. Concierge service, Adam, Joe and Rob, all of the help and suggestions made our short trip memorable. The water taxi to the airport was a fitting end to a truly fabulous stay. The location is fantastic, it isn't far from the subway, the water and the Freedom Trail. We will definitely return to Boston and this hotel, maybe we will book directly next time."
