Fun, family friendly beach town on Long Beach Island. Everything you need is walkable or within a short bike ride in Beach Haven. Several restaurants and a few bars, although they all seem to blend into each other as they mostly all have your typical average beach food. There is a small amusement park and water park for the kids, several mini golf courses too. The beach usually doesn't get too crowded here. July and August are the busy months and June weekends, as the town is still sleepy mid week in June. There is none of the Jersey Shore attitude here at all. Definitely a lot of kids and families all having a good time. For those without kids, Beach Haven would be a good long weekend trip as it gets a bit repetitive if you stay much longer.
Visit the historic lighthouse on one end of island, and the pristine bird sanctuary on the other. Great beach town to visit this summer to support the local community post- Hurricane Sandy.
A nice section of the shore out on Long Beach Island. It is somehow both very peaceful and quite lively. This is the are for the island I tend to stay in when I'm visiting LBI. Check out the Sea Shell Motel Restaurant and Beach Club as well at The Chicken or the Egg restaurant.
