Nice, comfortable English seaside resort town with very accessible boardwalk and seafront. Good with families. Shale beach is not as inviting as some and the streetscape looks like a flashback to the 70s, but in a good way on the whole.
Sunny Eastbourne is one of Britain’s best suntraps and next to the gorgeous white cliffs of Beachy Head. Eastbourne never really lost its glamour as a seaside destination and is to this day a popular destination for Brits and foreign visitors alike. There are the typical delights of an English coastal town as well as modern additions like the contemporary art gallery, Towner.
Great place for a weekend away with good shopping center pubs and places to eat. In november they have a parade along the seafront for bonefire night where everyone dresses up and carries lighted torches. There is also a pier which is open all year. the place gets plenty of sunshine even in February. Numerous hotels and B and B with good rates. Bassets house on the seafront was very nice.
One of the most peaceful places I have been to. It was so quiet that you could hear everything around you, even when people were walking in the hotel hallway. The pier is very nice to visit in the evening and the little park is wonderful.
