Lauterbrunnen Valley is absolutely amazing. Sandwiched between striking Alpine peaks, the valley is lush and green, filled with cows, sheep, small villages and quaint farms, picturesque chapels and breathtaking views everywhere you turn. We took a long walk along the valley floor, past plenty of waterfalls and sprawling meadows, and I literally couldn't tear my eyes away. It's a perfect place to stay if you want to explore the mountains - if you want to go "up" at all, stay here or in Murren, not the nearby bigger town of Interlaken!

This is a legitimately fairy tale town. Waterfalls cascade over the sides of the alpine cliffs that surround the valley. Towering peaks shade the countryside, offering fantastic hiking and even better viewing. It really does feel like a picture book come to life.

A visit to the Lauterbrunnen region of Switzerland, to the south of Interlaken, is a slice of all the best that Mother Nature has to offer. Waterfalls line a gleaming valley, mountains and ski slopes surge upwards. You'll want to run and skip through the meadows and won't be able to wipe the smile from your face.

I've visited this town many times, and it never ceases to amaze me. Truly one of the most beautiful places in Switzerland.
