Cool little town right on the Harbour. Good restaurants, coffee shops, Ice Cream Shops and shopping.

When you're in Cape Town, do yourself a HUGE favour and hop on the train to Simon's Town. Everything about this place is just beautiful. The boats in the harbour, the quaint little stores. The wonderful places to eat. And all just a short ride away from the bustling loudness of the city.

Do you like penguins? Do you like gorgeous beaches? Do you like penguins on gorgeous beaches? Do you like cute, old-worldish seaside towns with fabulous fish-and-chips? Then go to Simon's Town. South on the Cape Peninsula, resting on the western shores of False Bay, you can take the train here from Cape Town station -- a truly lovely journey down the coast -- but however you get here, the sight of hundreds of nesting African penguins at Boulder Beach just meters away from your camera lens will seldom disappoint. You can shop, eat, check out the yachts at anchor, or just marvel at one of the most beautiful stretches of urban coastline in the southern hemisphere. Highly recommended.
