A machiya designated as a Historically Important Building by the Kyoto City government. The structure of the building guides visitors to the heart of Kyoto. The atrium brings warm light to entire machiya complimented by the inner garden beautifully: it looks like a painting in the middle of the building. This "painting" will shift in form in different light and changing seasons. Japanese paintings that catches the viewer's eye at the entrance and at the far end of the building. The deep philosophy and identities of the Japanese can be observed thorough the artistic pieces, supplementing the experiences of the culture-filled city of Kyoto. Japanese embroidery expressing the world of Jakuchu is displayed. The fine technique and the coloring weave will attract those who watch over the times.
