A trip to Viareggio for a stroll along the promenarde - people watching - taking in the sea air - window shopping - checking out the millionaire boat harbour - enjoying a gelati or two - sipping a cafe latte - and just relaxing!!!

Its position is also a precious advantage: surrounded by such historical towns as Florence (100Km), Pisa (20Km), Lucca (30Km), Pietrasanta (10Km) this area offers you the highest concentration of works of art in the world. Within a short distance from the sea and from endless beaches, also an a hinterland rich of natural resources: the Apuan Alps with the famous white marble of Carrara, High Versilia with rural landscapes, the lake area of Massaciuccoli with the presence of archaeological remains and a lot of Roman churches, medieval towns, fortresses and castles that are all a testimony of the history of this territory. Viareggio represents the fusion between nature and culture and the mildness of the climate all year long makes it possible to enjoy this part of Tuscany in any season.


Viareggio is a good base to explore Tuscany and 5 Terre. Very nice from April to October. You can go to the beach to relax and the day after go to visit Lucca, Pisa, Firenze, take a ferry to the 5 Terre.. let me know if you need more infos
