The home of the rich and famous. Portofino is a dreamy little village in a protected marina where you can sit outside at a waterside cafe while people watching and sipping a cocktail visualizing you are part of the lifestyle until the bill comes! It is worth the trip, it makes for a fun afternoon but my recommendation is to stay in Santa Margherita Ligure or Rapallo.
Very pretty and expensive town which gives you the opportunity to see how the other half live.
Portofino is a picture perfect fishing village on the Italian Riviera. No wonder it attracts so many people – some come here to relax for a few days, others just visit for a few hours. You can spot celebrities here and there, especially during the summer. You can get a picture of the famous harbor view from the castle that is located on a hill above the village.
The ferry takes you from santa margharita to portofino and you cannot fail to be impressed by this stunning little bay. so simple and nice to stroll around for an hour, pick up a pizza and have a drink at a bar overlooking the harbour.
