the hottest city in indonesia, but having uniqely. many place, many food, and many traditions
The only reasons I visited this city were for business and on my way to see Bromo. Surabaya is another business city that does not offer a lot of sight seeing options. Other than the food is great, I find it difficult to admire this city.
because surabaya is full of history of struggle Indonesia country, there are many builds, monument and beautiful place arround it
I didn't see much of Surabaya, except for shopping malls and Makro, the Indonesian Costco equivalent for economy-sized bakmi. I know it has more to offer than this, but unfortunately I didn't see it. What makes this city worth visiting is the lontong balap, a regional dish that Surabaya is known for. It's made of lontong, which is a compressed rice cake, fried tofu, and sprouts in a sweet spicy peanut-y broth. It sounds basic, but the flavor is delicious! Sometimes it's eaten with seafood sate. There are shacks that serve this dish in any corner of the city - the grungier the better!
