A beautiful post wedding escape
We booked the Sunrise Suite for one night after our wedding, hoping for somewhere peaceful to relax together, and Dyo Beach Suites was exactly that.
The suite was stunning and looked exactly like the photos. It was spacious, stylish and had a beautiful private outdoor area with its own pool, just a few steps from the beach. We were also greeted with a bottle of wine and a congratulations card, which was a thoughtful touch and made our stay feel even more special.
Breakfast was amazing! We sent our order via WhatsApp the night before, chose a delivery time, and it arrived at our suite the next morning right on time.
We did experience a couple of issues. There was a noticeable drain smell around the pool, which appeared to be affecting the whole area, the shower didn't drain properly which flooded the bathroom, and the pool lights didn’t work on the night. However, what stood out was how Dimitris from the front desk handled everything. He came out personally that evening to fix the lights, apologised throughout, and kindly waived our minibar bill at checkout because of the inconvenience.
While the issues meant the stay wasn't perfect, the level of customer service really impressed us. We left feeling relaxed and well looked after, which was exactly what we needed after our wedding. We'd still happily recommend Dyo Beach Suites to anyone looking for a romantic, peaceful stay in Rethymno.

We had a wonderful stay at Dyo Beach Suites and would come back anytime!
We were warmly welcomed upon arrival. The entire team was incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating during our stay. No matter what we needed or what questions we had – they were taken care of immediately.
Breakfast was a highlight every morning. You could order it easily via WhatsApp and then enjoy it on your own terrace with a view of the pool. In general, communication via WhatsApp was excellent – we were informed about activities there, could order breakfast, or get in touch at any time if we had questions.
Our room was simply dreamlike. The private terrace with its own pool, direct beach access, outdoor shower, as well as several comfortable seating and lounging options was an absolute dream. The entire property is beautifully designed, very well-maintained, and you can notice the attention to detail everywhere.
We also found the little touches that regularly awaited us in the room to be especially nice – fresh fruit, cake, desserts, or even a chilled bottle of wine. The kitchen was well-equipped and even cocktail equipment was available.
A big plus is also that Dyo Beach Suites belongs to the Dyo Suites Hotel. You are allowed to use the beach there for free – and we can absolutely recommend that! The beach beds are among the most comfortable we have ever experienced; there is a great beach service with food and drinks delivered directly to your lounger and even a free bottle of water every day.
Directly next to the hotel is a large, free gravel parking lot. In addition, supermarkets, restaurants, and gas stations are quickly accessible.
My personal highlight was the free yoga classes right on the beach in front of our terrace. Sophia is a fantastic yoga instructor, and these classes are definitely among the best vacation memories I have ever collected. Anyone vacationing there should definitely try this out!
Additionally, the hotel offers massages, wellness treatments, extra yoga classes, in-room dining, and a laundry service, which perfectly rounds off the offer.
There are a few things one should know before booking: There are no beach loungers or beach service directly at the Dyo Beach Suites. Although the beach is basically a sandy beach, there are many small and large stones there. That did not bother us, but we personally liked the beach at the Dyo Suites Hotel better. In addition, a beach party with loud music takes place at the neighboring hotel on Sundays until about 1 a.m. Anyone who wants to can even participate in it themselves. The music did not bother us, but for very noise-sensitive guests, this could be relevant.
Our only real point of criticism was the room cleaning. We were already at the sister hotel Dyo Suites last year, and the housekeeping service there was truly excellent. At the Dyo Beach Suites, the cleaning during our stay was unfortunately not quite at that level. Toilet paper and beach towels were only replenished or changed upon request, and the outdoor shower was not cleaned, so sand remained on our feet after showering. The private pool was also not cleaned during our stay. Since birds bathed there regularly, quite a bit of dirt accumulated on the bottom over time. The sink was also not cleaned thoroughly after shaving. Upon our arrival, however, the room was in perfect condition – only the daily cleaning could have been a bit more thorough.
Despite these small points of criticism, we had a fantastic vacation. The exceptionally warm service, the beautiful room, and the relaxed atmosphere completely convinced us. Therefore, we are very happy to award 5 out of 5 stars and are already looking forward to our next stay!

Breakfast was one of our favorite parts of each day. We could conveniently order it via WhatsApp and enjoy it on our private terrace overlooking the pool. Communication through WhatsApp was excellent throughout our stay – we received updates about activities, ordered breakfast, and could easily contact the hotel whenever we needed anything.
Our room was absolutely stunning. The private terrace with its own pool, direct beach access, outdoor shower, and several comfortable seating and lounging areas made it feel like a little paradise. The entire property is beautifully maintained and designed with great attention to detail.
We also loved the thoughtful surprises left in our room, such as fresh fruit, cake, desserts, or even a chilled bottle of wine. The kitchen was well equipped and even included cocktail-making equipment.
Another great advantage is that Dyo Beach Suites belongs to Dyo Suites Hotel. Guests are welcome to use the beach facilities there free of charge, and we highly recommend doing so. The sunbeds were the most comfortable we've ever used, the beach service was excellent with food and drinks delivered directly to your sunbed, and a complimentary bottle of water was included every day.
There is also a large free gravel parking lot right next to the hotel, and supermarkets, restaurants, and gas stations are all nearby.
My personal highlight was the complimentary yoga classes on the beach directly in front of our terrace. Sophia is an amazing yoga instructor, and those sessions were honestly one of the best experiences I've ever had while traveling. Don't miss them!

We personally preferred the beach at Dyo Suites. Also, every Sunday the neighboring hotel hosts a beach party with loud music until around 1:00 a.m. Guests are welcome to join if they like. It didn't bother us, but light sleepers may want to keep this in mind.
Our only real criticism concerns the housekeeping. We stayed at the sister hotel, Dyo Suites, last year, where the cleaning service was outstanding. During this stay, however, housekeeping wasn't quite at the same level. Toilet paper and beach towels were only replenished after we asked, the outdoor shower wasn't cleaned, so sand remained after showering, and the private pool wasn't cleaned during our stay. Since birds regularly bathed in it, dirt accumulated on the bottom over time. The bathroom sink also wasn't cleaned thoroughly after shaving. Everything was spotless when we arrived, but the daily cleaning could have been more thorough.
Despite these minor issues, we had a fantastic vacation. The exceptional hospitality, beautiful accommodation, and relaxing atmosphere far outweighed the few shortcomings. We are happy to give Dyo Beach Suites 5 out of 5 stars and would love to come back!
