nice friendly University City in the North of Bavaria, even it is Bavaria there live the franks. after the 80% destuction in WW2 they rebuild several buildings so there are some old buildings to see. Churches the fortress and of course the Residenz. Around Würzburg the grow good vine aviable in a lot of bars and Shops.
I made a quick stop here some years ago and very much wish I could have seen more of the city, but the sights were too far from the rail station; however, I hope to return some day.
This is a typical German city on the Main River. We stopped here on our river cruise from Amsterdam to Bucharest. The main attraction that we visited is the Würzburg Residenz, a very large palace on the edge of the town.
I lived her for a few years and I absolutely love this Germany city. It is beautiful with rich history, good food, and great people.
