Simple but well run family hotel
Breakfast, again in another house, was good and substantially better than in low budget hotels.
Unfortunately, the hotel is not suitable for people with reduced mobility, as steps must always be overcome. Nevertheless, the Steps Hotel is a good alternative and is within walking distance of the subway. The price is acceptable and the staff friendly. The hotel impresses with its individuality and deserves support.

Outside Hui inside Pfui
Breakfast was okay but unfortunately there was very little tomato and cucumber, and peppers. According to the hotel staff in the dining room, there are only weekend times. Another guest arrived and asked for these things such as peppers and cucumbers and this was made available to her immediately after she informed that her children wanted this.
Our TV in the room also worked for two days, until we came back from the Brandenburg Gate and wanted to watch television on the night of 1.1.2025 and unfortunately no TV program was possible anymore no matter what settings you made on the TV. Supposedly, the building technician was there briefly, but not with us in the room, even though they knew this a few hours before that we could no longer receive television.
For 810 € it was not exactly expensive but also not exactly cheap for a not exactly super good room and a no kitchen we were not allowed to use. Unless you pay money, I'm not going to come back to this hotel with the family.

Youth hostel, with everything that goes with it.
When I arrived at the reception and received the keys, I was annoyed that a deposit of 100 euros had to be paid, even though the rooms had been paid for in cash when checking in. We were not students and had a business meeting here.
The rooms and furnishings have the feel of a youth hostel at the price of a hotel. I also expect that in a hotel my room is not right next to the shared toilet in the neighboring rooms and that I am not allowed to experience every visit to the toilet live, as the word “thin soundproofing” has a very special meaning here.
What contributed to a pleasant night’s sleep was that from 2:00 a.m. onwards the room neighbors decided to turn their accommodation into a disco, which was only stopped by a freak-out on my part, as it seemed that the people in charge at the hotel did not mind.
But who goes to a hotel to sleep there? I would have liked to do it, but I was able to use the time to write a review to spare one or two people this situation.
