This is an island that although is part of Australia it seems a little different. Somewhat slower pace and some nice small cities.
Quite a special place. Visited during the winter months, yes cold. Everything in Tassie seems to have a raw refreshness, like it's been specially grown in a magic forrest.. anyway that's my memory of the taste buds. We toured around some wineries and landmark Icons, certainly need to go back and spend more time there
Tasmania, imagine an island... a place of spectacular natural beauty, friendly people, easily-accessible World Heritage widerness, spectacular fresh produce and the purest air on earth. Take an easy bushwalk through forests of swamp gums, the tallest flowering plants in the world. Get close to native wildlife, including animals that nowhere else, like the amazing Tasmanian devil.
Traveled around this island last 2007 on a motor coach during Christmas holiday with Australians & during the night time spotting bush tour we saw all the nocturnal animals in their habitats.
