Can Tho is a city in Mekong Delta about 3 hours away from Ho Chi Minh city by bus. It’s river front is lively at night with boats, restaurants, bars and dinner cruises.

Despite being the 5th biggest city in Vietnam, with over 1.5 million people, Can Tho looks like a big village for who is coming from the hustle and bustle of Saigon. The center has lots of green and charm. The street food is amazing, the Mekong markets and backwaters are just behind the corner.

Can Tho is the epicenter of the Mekong Delta region. It is a big city, and it feels even bigger after having explored the smaller villages and the countryside around. The waterfront is lined with sculpted gardens but it is the little backstreets that are interesting to explore. It is a good starting point to visit the nearby floating markets.

Can Tho is a small city located along the Mekong Delta and is around a three hour drive south of Saigon. Can Tho is the starting point if you want to explore the Mekong Delta. It's relaxed and leisurely and is worlds away from the hustle and bustle of Saigon.
