If a small town, with a slow pace does not appeal to you then Wrangell is not for you. I found the town and people to be great! We rented a skiff and motored out to a USFS cabin for a week; no running water, electricity, and an outhouse. It was peaceful and relaxing.

I stopped in Wrangell Alaska by accident, and was immediately greeted by exceptionally nice people, and a town totally void of tourists. Few ferries stop here, and when they do most people don't bother getting off. When I asked where to find Sunday New York Times, I was informed that the most recent copy was from Thursday...truly a place like no other!
