What a lovely city. Located in East Texas, just under 100 miles from Dallas, Tyler is known as the Rose Capital of the United States and is home to America's largest rose garden. The Texas Rose Festival brings thousands of visitors to Tyler every October. Other attractions include the Caldwell Zoo, The Rose Museum, Lake Tyler, the Azalea Trail, Tyler State Park and the East Texas State Fair. Tyler has several museums, colleges, and corporate headquarters. Although much of the city is walkable and public bus transportation is available (but not on Sunday), it is probably best to have a car when visiting. The small airport has service to Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston airports.
