It is a good place to learn about Abraham Lincoln. Boasts a Lincoln museum and Historic Neighborhood with Abraham Lincoln's home.

If Illinois is the Land of Lincoln, Springfield is it's beating heart. There are plenty of historic and Lincoln related sites to see: the Lincoln Presidential Museum, the Lincoln Home, and of course Lincoln'd Tomb. A pleasant Mid-western town, it's the state capitol and the county seat.
