Love living here!!! Great place to be. Raise a family, enjoy lots of activities and to just relax.
We love Lubbock. I met my husband while attending Texas Tech University. We've been all over the U.S., but have never found nicer people anywhere, than the friendly people of West Texas. The cost of living is low, housing prices are very good compared to other places in the USA. TTU is an awesome university, offering a top notch education. There are lots of museums, art galleries, science centers, and the civic center holds concerts and other venues. There's lots of sports bars and nightlife. There's upscale restaurants, like Cafe J, Manna Bread & Wine, Stella's, & Las Brisas, just to name a few. For ethnic foods, there are several Thai restaurants, like Thai Pepper, Thai Thai, & our favorite....Choo Chai. There's also Indian food at Maharajah, Japanese food at Yamagata, and Brazilian food at Churrasca, and Mexican food at Montelongo's. There's upscale shopping at places like Chrome, and bargain shopping at places from Thrift stores to Burlington coat factory.
This place is not nearly as bad as you'd expect and Texas Tech is a decent university. It's just in the middle of absolutely nowhere and has only recently shed its image as oil town.
Lubbock is a nice place. Been there several times . Needless to say it's a place everyone goes who lives in Denver City, Texas.
