I loved Gettysburg but didn’t have enough time to see it all. Great gift shop, could have bought everything. Harrisburg had nice bars that were quite well priced for beer. Must go back as the area has lots to do.
Not the nicest place you'll ever visit but certainly not the worst. Museums and restaurants and a good rail service Not much shopping downtown and there are areas of this small city that are quite unpleasant. Nice waterfront and bike paths.
Harrisburg and the Sesquehanna River at night The Pennsylvania State Capitol’s prominent 94-foot dome sits quietly under the gilded brass statue of Commonwealth. The Fulton Bank sign on the right paints over the silky river with an interesting red. I took this shot from a small island called City Island, between Harrisburg and Wormleysburg. This small mile-long landmass, used for sports and recreational activities, provides one of the best views of the Pennsylvania State Captiol from the Sesquehanna River.
Capitol of Pennsylvania and the closest airport to Bucknell University, where I worked for six years. Every time I visit this city I am pleasantly surprised. There's a great downtown with some good restaurants and fun events. Not a bad place to swing through if you're nearby.
