This is the capital of Louisiana and is a very nice and popular place for visiting on the Mississippi River. The downtown area is quiet as most of the shopping as moved to the suburbs. Some nice parks and unique architecture.
Passed by Baton Rouge after visiting New Orleans for 4 hours. I think we spent most of the time at the mall, having dinner.
Baton Rouge is a great place to visit. They are uber supportive of LSU. You see tiger stuff everywhere. The bars etc are decent. Restaurants are great. 10% sales tax really sucks but there are great things to do here!
Went here a bunch of times for work and when I dated a girl who lived here. Kind of fun. I wouldn't recommend stays longer than a week.
