Just a little over an hour from the Cabin. Bangor offers convenient shopping from quant shops in Downtown to big box stores and mall. There is plenty to do as well with festivals such as the American Folk Festival, headline music acts, Blues festival and more. Bowling alleys, Playland Adventures, movie theaters, museums also offer great family outings.
The nearest large river city to CAMP SAMUEL... it offers some good restaurants, movie entertainment and nightlife, music venues, and Hollywood Slots (gambling).
Pretty much grew up in the Bangor area. I love the city and it has much to offer. Still lacks many of the conveniences of larger cities but also lacks the downfalls. Bangor is small sleepy city. Offers a variety of hotels and shopping areas. Its a short drive to the coast down Route 1 to Bar Harbor and is your last major stop before you get into the rural areas of Maine.
