A wonderful little Pacific village just north of the Colombian border. There a couple rooms on the beach with pristine ocean views that you can rent for less than a dollar a night, and the local food is great. But be careful of the hot sauce: there's a species of tiny white worms that live in the local variety. Also beware of kidnappers. Historically they prefer Americans around here. Also watch for FARC (the world's largest guerrilla army has quite a presence in the area). And the narco-traffickers, too. And the snakes, scorpions, bull sharks, crocodiles, caimans, jaguars, malaria, dengue, yellow fever, and those ants. Some of the bigger ants got a sting that'll bring on a fever.
