What a great gem of a city as you head to the southern region of New Zealand. You can almost imagine that you are traveling around in Scotland as you enjoy the interesting architecture and the the lovely food. Your trip here would not be complete without a look into the magnificent railway station and its amazing tile work. You must also take a trip up to Larnach Castle to see the "camp" and its lovely gardens.
Dunedin is the second-largest city in the South Island of New Zealand, and the principal city of the Otago region. We needed to take a bus/train from the port to get to this lovely city - well worth the visit.
Dunedin was one of my favourite destinations in the South Island because of Cadbury chocolate factory! The tour was amazing. As a university town, the city offers cultural delights; high quality local craft, art, jewelry and fashion outlets. Not just the arts and history, Dunedin is an excellent place to enjoy wildlife and beautiful beaches on the east coast. A number of outdoor activities such as surfing, cruises, golfing, fishing and mount-biking, Dunedin is also one of the best destinations to outdoorsy travelers.
:pved the people and meeting the young folks who are on the big O.E. lots of fun
